Braxion grew up in the shadow of Rome. A citizen from birth, he toiled in the fields scratching out a living with his family until the crops failed and they fell on hard times. Forced to flee his home when it was seized by a rich Roman Senator, Braxion escaped to the hills and fell into a life of petty crime. Drifting from one fight to the next, one stolen meal to another, he waged a personal war against society, struggling to survive, never forgetting his lost family and the life of peace he once knew. Daring and bold, but desperate, he took risks, risks that eventually landed him in irons. Faced with death or banishment to the gladiatorial games, he decided to rely on his body and skill forged in the fires of struggle and strife to preserve his family’s memory, regain his honor, and win his freedom!

Ferozius was born in Gaul on the banks of the Rhine river. Savage raiding parties of barbarian Germanic tribes washed over his village when he was but a boy. Taken as a slave, his brutal captors treated him as mere cattle. Unending hardship filled his days with only his weariness and the cold to comfort his nights. By the will of the gods he grew strong, aggressive, determined with the bulk of muscle to re-enforce his will. In time he grew accustomed to his enslavers’ ways, fighting intensely for the survival of his tribe. Until his raiding party was obliterated by a Roman legion. Slapped in irons and dragged across the Italian peninsula to Rome, Ferozius found himself imprisoned behind walls of concrete, fighting in front of blood thirsty crowds. With no love for Romans, spectators, or his opponents, he fights for one thing: survival. No one, no man will stand in his way of surviving, winning his freedom and his returning to the river he once called home.

For Kwentax, the myth of Rome wafted over the ears of him and his fellow tribesman like a persistent, irritating bug. Kush and Egypt were the lands of greatness, not this feeble Italian village of fools. A leader of men, Kwentax journeyed far and wide defending his homeland. Accompanying a band of wealthy tradesmen and merchants for business in Alexandria, he was betrayed and sold into slavery. He awoke aboard a galley, set sail for Rome. Now shackled and branded, he fights in the arena for the pleasure of others. His rage fuels his desire to kill every Roman he sees, both spectator and gladiator; and if the gods be willing, the emperor himself.
